PHB, Inc. located in Fairview Pennsylvania, recognized globally as a fully integrated supplier of quality parts and assemblies, has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Agent. PHB, Inc. is a highly automated and technologically advanced manufacturer with capabilities consisting of zinc die casting, aluminum die casting, machining, plastic and rubber molding, tool & die, injection molding, and product assembly. We service many markets including plastics, appliance, telecommunications, electronics, electrical equipment, automotive, transportation, medical, industrial equipment, instrumentation, aerospace, and defense industries.
Job Requirements:
- Typing and writing skills required
- Good communication skills necessary
- Computer knowledge a must with proficient in MS Word/Excel/Outlook
- Familiarity with database software a plus
- General office experience needed
- Good attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Prior purchasing experience is a plus
- High School Diploma
- Proficiency in math and English required
- Excellent internal and external supplier relations skills
- Be highly motivated
- Able to problem solve and troubleshoot
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Request price quotes from various suppliers/vendors based on inter-departmental requisitions and once approved, place purchase orders
- Check pricing history on past purchases
- Analyze price proposals to ensure the correct pricing is obtained from vendors
- Ability to negotiate prices when needed and effectively communication issues to supervisors
- Correct any problems related to shipments
- Solve problems when invoices and purchase orders do not agree
- Enter purchase orders into the computer system, proof purchase orders, email purchase orders to respective vendors/suppliers
- Follow-up with vendors/suppliers on delivery dates and details
- Provide administrative assistant; including general clerical duties, i.e. filing, data entry, addressing phone calls, and help with any special projects that may be assigned
- Maintain inventory/stock of various supplies (office supplies, paper products, lunchroom supplies, etc. and order replacements when necessary
- Ability to follow-up on tasks and effectively manage the requirements of the positions
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor
